| Who
may attend the school? |
Upon
the recommendation of their Pastor, St. Francis School
accepts students of families who are registered at Santa
Clara, San Antonio or St. Martin parishes.

| Do
my children have to be Catholic to attend? |
Yes,
all students must be Catholic to attend St. Francis School. Proof
of baptism is required before registration.

| How
do I apply? |
| The
process starts at Open House in January.
Obtain a New Student Information
Sheet and a Pastor recommendation form from the school
office.
Return completed form to
school office and submit Pastor recommendation form
to your home parish.
When
the school receives the Pastor recommendation form
from your home parish,
you will be notified. (The Pre-K process varies slightly. Families
interested in Pre-K applications should call the school
office for details.)
Formal
Registration and Acceptance: After all applications
have been reviewed by the Pastors, screening has been
completed
and it is determined that St. Francis School can meet
the needs of the students, available openings will
be filled based on the Priority of Admissions Policy
as outlined below.
For
Returning Families: Pastors will recommend
admission for returning families based on active family
participation in the life of their parish. THEN Pastors
will recommend admission for siblings of currently
registered St. Francis families, based on active
family participation in the life of their parish.
Pastors will recommend admission for
students of registered members of San Antonio,
St. Martin, and Santa Clara Parishes, based on active family
participation in the life of their parish, subject
to the remaining available spaces. Santa Clara parish
members will obtain a pastor recommendation from Santa
Clara, San Antonio or St. Martin parishes. St Martin
and San Antonio parishes are allocated one half of
the available spaces which includes Santa Clara parish.

| How
does St. Francis School balance school enrollment? |
One half of each incoming Pre-K
class is reserved for St. Martin and San Antonio parish
(which includes Santa Clara students). Siblings have priority
to fill the allotted spaces. If the one-half criterion is
not met with siblings, then the available spaces will be
filled by parish, with new students who have been recommended
by their pastors for Pre-K.

old must my child be to attend St. Francis School? |
| To
enroll for the coming year in Pre-K your child must be
4 years old on or before September 1st and toilet trained.
To
enroll for the coming year in Kindergarten,
your child must be 5 years on or before
September 1st.
To
enroll for the coming year in First Grade, your child
must be 6 years old on or before
September 1st.

| Is
there an entrance exam? |
No. In
order to ensure a smooth transition for all students,
the school will conduct a grade level placement for students
entering Kindergarten through 6th Grade. For students
entering Kindergarten, a readiness screening is conducted
to determine if a student is ready for our program. The
results of all testing will be a factor in admitting
new students.

does St. Francis School score on Standardized Testing? |
Based upon grade level composites,
St. Francis of Assisi School is in the top third percentile
of the nation.
|
| What
is the class size? |
The maximum class size is 32
students, 20 for Pre-K with an Instructional Aide. Grades
K-2 are assisted by full time Instructional Aide, and grades
3 and 4 are assisted by a part time instructional aide.

| What
time is school? |
Supervision
of students begins at 7:40 a.m. The school bell rings
at 8:00 a.m. and the tardy bell rings at 8:05 a.m. School
ends at 2:45 p.m. Pre-K begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at
2:30 p.m.

| Do
you have before and after school care programs? |
Our Extended Care program is
available to all students from 7:00 a.m. to 7:40 a.m. Regular
supervision begins at 7:40 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Program fees may be paid on an hourly basis or on a monthly
basis.

grades do you offer? |
We
offer classes for students in grades Pre-K through 8th
Grade.

you offer scholarships, financial assistance or family
discounts? |
Each parish offers tuition
assistance to its parishioners. Please contact your home
parish for more information on assistance.

do 8th grade students attend high school once they
graduate? |
The majority of eighth grade students attend
one of our Diocesan Catholic High Schools:
- Servite
High School (boys) in Anaheim
- Rosary
High School (girls) in Fullerton
- Cornelia
Connelly High School (girls) in Anaheim
- Mater
Dei High School (co-ed) in Santa Ana
- Santa
Margarita High School (co-ed) in Rancho Santa Margarita

is the annual tuition? |
| The
current year's tuition rate is $4,850 per student per
year for grades
Kindergarten through 8th, $4,690.00 for Pre-Kindergarten
3-day program and $5,200.00 for Pre-Kindergarten 5-day
program. Tuition
can be paid in a 10 or 12 month payment plans.
Current
additional fees for all families/students are:
Application fee: $100
per student
Registration fee: $270 per student
Graduation Fee: $125 per 8th Grade Student
Tuition management fee: $41 per family
Technology Fee: $100 per student
Earthquake fee: Annual $10 per family
Extended Care Registration: $100 per family
Class fees vary by grade level.
Fee
increases are always a possibility in
the coming school year.
